Job Description:

As a Baker’s Apprentice, you’ll be diving into the heart of the bakery. You’ll help out with daily baking tasks, keep things shipshape, and slowly but surely start learning the secrets behind our famous cakes, buns, and more. If you’re keen to learn the craft and expand your skills, we’re here to help you be the best in the business.

At Dougies, we don’t believe in burning the candle at both ends—our hours are a delightful mix of shifts between (6am – 6pm), Monday through Saturday. We don’t work Sundays.

Responsibilities:

1. Baker's Sidekick: Assist our bakers with prepping ingredients, keeping the workspace tidy, and maybe even sneak a slice of cake (shh, we won’t tell!).
2. Learning the Craft: Gradually pick up baking techniques, recipes and tricks from the best in the business — one delicious treat at a time!
3. Cleaning Whiz: Keep the kitchen sparkling clean — because we all know flour gets everywhere.
4. Dough Duty: Weighing, mixing, and measuring ingredients like a pro, making sure our bakers have everything they need.
5. Utensil Commander: Managing trays, bowls, and baking tools — clean, organised, and ready to use.

About You:

• You’re currently studying or looking to throw yourself head first into the world of baking.
• You’re eager to learn the art of baking (and maybe sneak a pastry or two).
• You’ve got a knack for staying organised and keeping things clean — even when the flour’s flying!
• You’re a team player who’s ready to roll up your sleeves and help wherever needed.
• A love for cake, bread, and all things baked is highly recommended!
